Ernst Green
Ernest Green was the first African American to graduate from Little Rock Central High School. He was also part of the Little Rock Nine.
Earnest started doing social commitment from a very early age, he did that to make change. He wanted everyone to be treated equally. In his life he had all white schools, and all black schools, and he wanted to change that, he wanted everyone to get equal education, and so did his friends in the Little Rock Nine.
He wanted to accomplish all races being able to go to the same school, and everyone to be treated equally. He accomplished just that, and he was also the first black student to graduate from Little Rock All White Central School. To effect change The Little Rock Nine all applied to the all white school near them.
According to Marquete University,” the Little Rock Nine became an integral part of the fight for equal opportunity in American education when they dared to challenge public school segregation by enrolling at the all-white Central High School in 1957. Their appearance and award are part of the Centennial Celebration of Women at Marquette.” What makes them unsung heroes? They are all unsung heroes because they put themselves at risk to fight for something they believed in, and helped people today get proper education.
Thanks to The Little Rock Nine for doing all of that, for everyone to get a good education, no matter what race they are, an education that they deserve.
Hi sporty dog, I didn't actually know who was the Little Rock Nine and what he did. I like how you said that he wanted to accomplish all races being able to go to the same school. I find that fascinating. how was Little Rock Nines childhood?
ReplyDeleteThank you, the little rock nines childhood was probably not very good because of all the racism and the insults they got. They got a lot of hate when they got accepted into the all white school too.
DeleteErnst Green really is one of the most historic unsung heroes from the Little Rock Nine. He has been through a lot just like his friends. Can you tell me a fun fact about one of the other students in the Little Rock Nine? Great job on this blog Sporty Dog!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, one fact about Elizabeth Eckford, a member of the little rock nine, is that she was only 15 when she went to the all white school and was followed by a mob of white students.
DeleteI liked this blog. I never heard of him. Why did you pick him?
ReplyDeleteThank you, I picked him because I wanted to pick an unsung hero that no one else would pick, but also did a lot of great things.
DeleteI enjoyed how you explained what the Little Rock Nine was, and how Ernest Green was apart of it. He sounds similar to Ruby Bridges, creating change through education. My one question is who were some of the other members of the Little Rock Nine?
