Five Reasons Why Stranger Things Is So Popular
If you have ever heard of the netflix series Stranger Things you would know that it got very popular, very fast. Here are 5 of the main reasons why it's such a popular show. There will be some spoilers so if you have not seen seasons 1 and 2 and are planning on watching it, you have been warned.
The first reason Stranger Things is so popular is because it takes place in the 80s. Lots of people like shows that take place in that time period because it reminds them of when they were kids. Another reason why people like shows that are based then is because of the music, clothing and way of life.
The second reason is because Stranger Things is a multi genre show. Stranger Things is more than just sci-fi, it is also a comedy, and a horror show. Lots of people enjoy shows that are not focused on one genre, because it is more surprising in multi genre shows because you don’t know what to expect.
The third reason is cliffhangers. People enjoy cliffhangers because it gets them excited for the next episode or season. Most of the big hit movies or shows end with a cliffhanger to hook people on to watch the next one. Stranger Things has cliffhangers.
The fourth reason is character development. In Stranger Things there is a lot of character development. For example Steve was a bully in season 1 but in season 2 he became friends with all the main characters, and now he is nice and protects the kids from bullies and monsters. Another character who had a lot of character development is Will. In the first season he was scared of everything, and then in season 2 he faced his fear of the shadow monster. And in season 3 he used the senses he had from the shadow monster to help his friends.
The fifth reason and last reason Stranger Things is so popular is it is an emotional rollercoaster. If you don't know what an emotional rollercoaster is it is when there are all sorts of emotions at once. In Stranger Things there are a lot of emotional rollercoasters. For example at the end of season 1, when Eleven uses her powers to make the demogorgon fade away, and she fades away with it, you can feel sad that she faded away, but you can also be happy that the other kids don’t have to worry about the monster anymore. And the viewer can go back to normal for awhile. Another example is in season 2 when Dart protects Steve, and Dustin from the other demogorgons. You could be happy that he saved them, but you could be sad at the same time because Dart will die when Eleven closes the gate to the upside down.
So is Stranger Things the right show for you?

I really liked your blog Sporty Dog. I can connect to you I watched seasons one and two of stranger thing in like a week one summer! I think it is a really good show. I have one question though if you could rate stranger things 1-10 what would you rate it? I would rate it a 7.
ReplyDeleteThank you, If I could rate stranger things from 1-10 I would probably rate it a 10 because of the reasons in the blog. And because all of the characters are relatable in a way, and I like horror shows too.
DeleteI myself love the television show stranger things it's exciting and my whole family can enjoy it. I do think a lot of people like the show so no doubt this blog has information and it's a good blog.

ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the blog. My favorite season is probably season 2 because there is alot more action then season one, and one of my favorite characters is in that season more than the other seasons, season 3 is very close though.
DeleteI enjoyed reading your blog, and you informed me well on how Stranger Things is so popular. Thankfully I have seen both seasons 1 and 2, but I don't understand how some people are so severely scared of the show. Do you know why people think the show is so scary?
ReplyDeleteThank you, I think some people are scared of the monsters in the show, and some people can probably not handle all the violence, and possessed people, but I don't think the show is scary either.
